At Cottonwood Restaurant and Bar, there is a beautiful atmosphere with comfort that creates a truly matchless great dining experience. Spirited tales of mountain adventure echoes within the restaurant environs. The restaurant (and bar) was hand-built from salvaged railroad ties in 1928. The unmatched views of downtown Truckee and the surrounding Sierra can be seen from the vast Dining Room and expansive Deck. In 1974, there and then the history of Squeeze In came into place. A tiny little kitchen started selling omelets to locals and tourists in historic downtown Truckee. At just 10 feet, 3 inches wide, and with only 39 seats, guests would literally have to ‘squeeze in’ to enjoy their breakfast in the little restaurant. As the list of omelet options grew, so did the popularity of the restaurant, and by the mid-80s it was considered a true Truckee institution.

The Donner Lake Kitchen has been operating since the mid-1970s in Truckee, one of the oldest in the area which is still in business. The Money family purchased the business in the early ‘90s and has been serving up delicious breakfast and lunch to Truckee ever since. Moody’s Bistro Bar & Beats is the place in Truckee for great food along with a great atmosphere. Located in the warmhearted ambiance of the historic Truckee Hotel, Moody’s complements its fine dining with nationally-touring Jazz, Americana, Soul and Rhythm and Blues bands with a splash of Hip Hop.
